Richard W. Friedman, MSW – Board President
Criminal/Juvenile Justice Consultant (retired)
Board of Advisors for the University of Maryland School of Social Work and volunteer as the Senior Policy Advisor with the Campaign for Youth Justice in DC. Richard joined the HCS Board in 2007. He is committed to the mission of HCS and believes the business provides a solid foundation for employment and support services for those in recovery from mental illness and/or substance abuse.

Jeff Richardson
Executive Director of Mosaic Community Services, a community behavioral health provider across Central Maryland. Jeff is involved in multiple nonprofits boards, state task forces, and academic positions to further support the cause of community mental health. He has been a member of the Harbor City Services Board since 2006 and has been proud to be a part of a business with such a clear and defined social mission.

Donna A. Heavner – Board Treasurer
Owner of Heavner Computer Consulting, a Division of ADSS Global, Inc. Donna has always had a soft spot in her heart for the down and out, especially the homeless that have mental illness.  Additionally, her sister in law has struggled with mental illness and employment for over 30 years.

Brian M. Hoover, PHR – Board Secretary
Assistant Director of Human Resources at Mosaic Community Services, Inc. Brian appreciates being a part of a place like HCS, with a great mission and real success. It has been a positive learning experience.

Terri Harrington
Vice President of MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services, LLC. Terri was intrigued by the HCS mission. With a background in commercial real estate, she saw a real opportunity to give back.

Behavioral Health Program Consultant. John has been a member of the HCS Board since 1996. Working in psychiatric rehabilitation, John wanted to support the mission of offering alternative employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

Alfred Johnson, Jr. CPA, MAS
Vice President of Keyser Capital, LLC. Joining the Board in 2010, Al is interested in supporting an organization that promotes keeping people productive.

Lawrence Oliva
Systems Analyst/Project Manager at Avaya Government Solutions Inc. After learning about HCS, Lawrence saw the match between his project management experience, board experience helping other non-profit organizations, and the challenges facing HCS as it expands into new business areas.

Jay Nwachu, M.S.
National Recruiter of INROADS and CEO of RemainEmployable.com, Jay joined the HCS Board in 2011. He has always been service oriented and continues to find more creative ways to give back to the community. Jay looks forward to giving the best that he can to help HCS continue on a positive path to help a segment of our population that is often ignored.
